My human has informed me there are some unfortunate souls amongst us who have never had a Fuzzballer take over their life entirely, below are some things I would like to point out on behalf of all Fuzzballers, ignore at your peril!
Cats are wonderful pets (and they’d probably think the same about us humans) and make great companions for first-time pet owners. Here are some tips for beginners:

Make sure you get your future Fuzzballer from a reputable source, whether that’s a rehoming centre (there are hundreds across the UK) or a trusted breeder who is knowledgeable about the breed and is focused on the care and wellbeing of the kittens and their mum and dad as an absolute priority!

Visit the vet: Take your cat for a check-up and their vaccinations, parasite treatment and microchipping soon after you bring them home, and continue with regular check-ups. Also put reminders on your calendar so you’re tracking when worming and flea treatments are due.

Consider pet insurance: cats can develop complex health problems that are expensive to diagnose and treat. Insurance will give your peace of mind that should your Fuzzballer become unwell you don’t need to worry about the bills.

Provide basic necessities and home comforts: Ensure that your cat has access to fresh water, good quality food like Fuzzball, a clean litter box, scratching post, and a comfortable place to sleep in peace and quiet.

Establish a routine: Feed your cat at the same time each day.

Playtime: Play with your cat daily to provide exercise and mental stimulation.

Grooming: Regular grooming (if enjoyed by your cat), such as brushing and possibly trimming their nails, depending on your cat’s lifestyle, helps maintain their overall health and appearance.

Provide a safe environment: Keep harmful household items and plants out of reach, and ensure that top floor windows and balconies are secure. A cat flap should be provided for cats with access outdoors.

Show affection: All Fuzzballers are individuals, and cats can be very different in their preferences for affection. Some cats will love being stroked, or even cuddled, but for many this is on their terms! Let your cat come to you, after all they do like life on their terms!
Remember, every cat is unique and may have specific needs, so it's important to observe their behaviour and consult with a veterinarian if there showing any signs or behaviours that you’re concerned about.
